Our employees are ambassadors of our values and have an impact on society. Aware of the importance of this social legitimacy, we have been supporting non-profit associations and civil society organizations in a long tradition.
Since June 2022, we have been offering our employees a new corporate volunteering program called Volkswagen "Gemeinsam Engagiert" (Together Engaged) around the six German locations of Volkswagen AG. With the help of a digital exchange platform, our employees can search for local engagement offers and volunteer as an individual or as a team. In this way, we bring together organizations that need volunteers with a variety of potential supporters at the local level and are jointly involved in the areas of environment and society. The various engagement offers on the platform, one-time to long-term commitments and pro bono offers, were supplemented in September 2022 by the first volunteer day at Volkswagen AG.
The Volkswagen "Gemeinsam Engagiert" (Together Engaged) program is closely linked to the content of our vocational training and trainee programs. Voluntary commitments are an integral part of the learning curricula of both groups.
In order to sustainably support the voluntary commitment of our employees, Volkswagen AG's healthcare department has been responsible for occupational health care for heavy respiratory protection Gr. 3 (formerly G 26.3) at all six German locations (since October 2022), as well as the aptitude test in accordance with fire service regulation 7 and the aptitude test for drivers of rescue and supply vehicles (THW, etc.).
